Just a Picture Post

It's another cold and dark day here, so I'll entertain myself with some pictures.

Last week:

Sunny. And our closest neighbor to the east is a world away. 

Our neighbor to the West is almost as far away. This is the house with the mean dogs that bark relentlessly at me whenever I am outside. 

White Moth, never seen one quite this white before.

Yeah, no eclipse for Helena. 

Today is yuck.

Yuck to the left and ick to the right.

But Aiko has her piggy. 

so all is well in the world. 

I will add that by the time I finished writing this (9 hours after I started it) the clouds had blown out and the sun is now shining, But it hasn't gotten warmer than 55 degrees.

Day 8: Your Sky

Goodbye 2011

2011 was a good year, considering all the stress we have been under. 

Janurary brought us lots of snow

And we tried to finish unpacking

February I started my job

And more really coldness 

March was warmer weathers

but still lots of snuggles.

April we had one more good snow

 and we finally disposed of the christmas tree sitting at the side of the house. 

May we tried some new beers

 And it warmed enough to play outside with the dogs

We also had the return of the sunny spot! 

 June we did some fun hiking

 And I started to go blond again

Sadly there was also quite a bit of flooding in our area

We also had camping in Challis, which was a blast! 

July was more fun with food

and much warmer temps 

August I went home to Tucson, Az for a much needed visit. 

And then got in my car accident 

September was more hiking

and slightly cooler weather

October gave us some weird weather (that i still haven't found an explanation for) 

And changing of the leaves

We also had our first really cold night. 

November was the first snow

And the Marine Corps Ball 

And possibly most important: 

My sisters wedding! 

December was a belated thanksgiving dinner/early christmas dinner 

And another beautiful sunset.  

We had several friends come over and together we ended the year with

And snacks! 

(way more snacks than just the shrimp, but that's all that had it's picture taken.

One Year!

Happy One Year, Home! 

One year ago today we moved into our home. I still remember when I first saw it. I cried. I knew it was the home for us. And things have worked out well. We've been here for a year and we still love it. No major problems, we still love the area, we still don't really know our neighbors (although we have met most of them). I've locked my self out twice.

Oh, and we still haven't finished unpacking. 

I think there are two or three boxes downstairs. 

But they will likely join the other box or two that never get unpacked because it's simply stuff we don't know what to do with but feel the need to keep. 

It was an adventure that brought us here. In two more years, an adventure will take us away (hopefully back to Okinawa, Japan.)
Helena is growing on me, but not quite as much as I would have hoped. I love the non-winter months, all 3 months of them. I still hate winter, but I'll give it another year.
