apperantly i cant do anything right

i dont think i ever mentioned my experience at the nail salon getting a pedi while i was in tucson, my feet were in bad shape, we'd been on the road for three weeks, and i was living in flipflops, my feet were dry and just not cute. so the woman made me swear up and down i wouldnt let that happen again, i needed to take care of my feet, i have pretty feet i just need to treat them nice so they stay that way. but the woman scolded me for the way i treat my feet.
so fast forward to a few days later, i am told again, by someone else in the beauty world that my hair would be so much nicer if i did this, and stoped doing that, okay lemmie just say i am hopelessly addicted to pony tails, now that my hair has gotten a bit longer i can get it up with a pencil again or a hair stick, but i will still always love my pony tail, as i was told ponys are bad for your hair, they cause weak spots and breaking.
and now today. i go to get my uni brow waxed, i am a strict plucker, i used to pluck every night, pluck until there wasnt a sight of a stray hair. my brows looked okay, not perfect but they were always maintained. a few weeks ago i gave up on plucking, i decided that this may be something i leave up to someone who knows what they are doing, besides waxing lasts way longer. so i go in, and the woman tells me my thin bushy stray eyebrows make me look old, i should let them grow in and she will make them pretty. now one brow is thicker than the other, so she waxes it clean, the other she cleans up the lower part with twezers and waxes my unibrow, again i am scolded for plucking and asked not to tuch my brows for a month, then come back to see her. so now i look super weird with two different brows, wich i guess i looked like before they were just both super bushy and uneven, now they are just sort of bushy and still uneven until my right grows back so i can have thicker brows and not look so old,

i have crocheted myself a pretty little bookmark, it was super easy, if you are interested you can find the pattern here   it took less than one movie to make, it would have been maybe two in a movie but i had to un-do it a few times because it was super long.

frustrations

i really hate the language barrier, i wish so much that i could communicate, and understand.
so were trying to buy drapes for the Living room, we have this huge sliding glass door and no blinds, all our behind neighbors can see right into our abode. its a little weird. well Paul and i picked out some drapes the night before the lockdown, couldn't buy them because we didn't have yen. yesterday we got off lockdown and went out and got our drapes, well they are too short. so today i go and exchange them and get home, hang them, and look they are too short again, this time i think i grabbed a mislabeled re-pack. i feel like an ass because i am going to have to return them again and i just feel stupid. plus i dont know how to say return in Japanese so i am left looking like the person who cant take the time to learn the language. like those people who i would get so mad at where i lived previously. now i am the foreigner. i have a new respect for immigrants.

Period of Reflection ends, curfew implemented
Release number: 08-005
March 3, 2008

MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP S.D. BUTLER, OKINAWA, Japan - Lt. Gen. Richard C. Zilmer, the Okinawa Area Coordinator and senior U.S. military commander on Okinawa, met with senior military and civilian leaders from all the services March 3rd to evaluate the effects and impacts of the "Period of Reflection."

During the past two weeks, leaders from each of the military services have reviewed the procedures and orders that govern the discipline and conduct of all U.S. service members serving in Okinawa. The review is ongoing and U.S. military and Japanese officials will continue to discuss ways to work together toward the common goal of reducing off-base misconduct by SOFA-status members. All military units and installations in Japan have recently conducted education and training that reinforces and encourages the high standards of professionalism and conduct expected of U.S. forces living in Japan.

To capitalize on these efforts and to allow for further discussions between all parties, Lt. Gen. Zilmer has decided the "Period of Reflection" has concluded and that a 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. curfew will be implemented immediately for all service members. There are no limitations, restrictions or curfew for civilians or family members.

"The curfew, coupled with ongoing cooperative initiatives with our Japanese hosts at the national and local level, will offer the best atmosphere for our service members, family members and civilian employees while reducing the possibility and risk of misconduct," said Lt. Gen. Zilmer.

Effective immediately, during curfew hours service members are limited to U.S. military installations or the off-base residences of SOFA status personnel. During curfew hours, service members are authorized to transit between U.S. military installations or off-base residences of SOFA status personnel via privately owned vehicle, military supported transportation, or commercial taxi.

In addition, service members are restricted from consuming alcohol off-base, except within the confines of the off-base residences of SOFA status personnel. There are no alcohol restrictions for civilians or family members.

The curfew and alcohol restrictions will be periodically reassessed by senior service leaders.

There are no restrictions to alcohol consumption aboard any U.S. base or installation.

"As we begin to venture outside our gates, I remind all of you that we are guests in Japan and must represent our Nation with the utmost pride, professionalism and respect for our hosts. I know the overwhelming majority of you are great ambassadors of America and will strive to reinvigorate the great relationship we have with our Japanese neighbors," Lt. Gen. Zilmer said. "Please look out for one another."

i am stoked ♥

are you fo real?

last week on the eve of our possible release some Army guy gets accused of rape, this week again on the eve of our possible release some airman goes out and sneaks off base at 0630 drunk, with a lead pipe (yeah i know sounds like a game of clue) and breaks a window at a construction office in town. and of course we are still not released. as much as i want to say we dont deserve this, if we as a whole, some.. what... 40K military personnel cant band together for ONE WEEK and stay out of trouble, maybe we should be locked down. But how about showing the locals we arnt complete assholes, i am scared to think what is going to happen when we are allowed off base, what will happen when we enter an establishment? will we even get served? is everyone going to hate us? yes there  are a few people who could care less about the period of reflection, but some of us, want out. we do care. and we also care what the locals think of us. i dont care who you are and what may have happened i dont want you to hate me.  its starting to look like alot more than one bad apple people.
