Yesterday........

When I left work, It looked like this:

An hour or so later it looked like this:

About 6-7 inches fell, then about midnight it warmed up to 37-38 degrees and the snow started to melt. The wind picked up and the clouds blew out. Then it got COLD, 32-33 degrees, and the snow melt froze. I woke up this morning to plate glass ice on my front porch.

Currently it looks like this:

Temp is rising quickly, expected high of about 55 today. Snow is melting (thank god). Ice is pretty much gone.

Montana is a big fan of winter, and she is rubbing it in my face.

1. I'm looking forward to... duh.. summer.

2. Something kind of embarrassing that I still love anyway...is I cry when I watch movies, and even a lot of TV shows. Babies, weddings, happy moments, sad ones, I'm a big fat crybaby.

3. My favourite car is...a scooter, I'd love a scooter over a car any day.

4. If I could pick one type of weather to live with for the rest of my life it would be... warm beach weather. I am so sick of this cold shit.

5. My favourite thing to do after a bad/stressful day is... have a glass of wine and eat a nice snack, like popcorn.

6. This weekend...I will be cleaning and working. Nothing exciting here.

7. If I were a colour I'd be Lime Green because That's just how I feel today :)

It's Over!

I don't talk about school much, especially this semester, because it's just been pissing me off. I think my teacher is lazy, can't spell, and is terrible at keeping the lines of communication over. Now I understand that Proff.s with multiple classes are busy people, but it shouldn't take a week to get back to me on an e-mail that is important, silly stuff yeah, but important stuff that requires a simple yes or no should be answered. It's also an online class and the teacher didn't really participate, add any sort of lectures or insights, it was mostly "read x chapter and tell me about why xy and z happened" I really don't feel I learned much because I wasn't stimulated. I found the class INCREDIBLY boring, as well as frustrating. And I love history, it shouldn't be boring.

But yesterday I had my final exam. 10 essay questions. 8 I knew mostly the answers, 2 I had no idea, 1 of those I was able to BS enough that I think I'll get partial credit, but 1 I had never even heard of. I am hoping that everyone misses that one and maybe the proff will drop it from the test.

But as of today it's over, at least until next semester. So we celebrated last night.

Oh and it's freezing again today, welcome to Montana I guess.

I'm not going to lie, things have been tough here. I really have days where I just hate it here. I want to go home, back to Okinawa, or to my moms house, anywhere but here. I am not prepared to handle this cold. Every day I wake up and it's less than 35*, It's cold. I HATE THE COLD. It's windy, I HATE THE WIND. Daily the winds are 17mph or more. It picks up around 11 or noon, and gets worse as the day progresses. It makes it hard to enjoy the outdoors when the wind is whipping around making it 10-15 degrees colder. It makes life less enjoyable, I am crabby and don't want to do anything that evolves leaving the house.

I really am trying to make the best of it. We took the bikes out last weekend, We keep trying to go fishing but it's been difficult to get licenses. I spend a fair part of my down time thinking about where I want to go next, I fantasize about California beaches, or North Carolina BBQ. Anywhere has got to be better than this.

But I am going somewhere with all this complaining. Today's list is "Things I love about...." and I chose to find the good things in Helena. I am sure there are more than I have listed, but I just haven't found them yet.

{1. Fridays are} just another day in this house. Paul works Monday through Saturday 9 to 8or9 pm. so Friday is just another day.

2. being home with husband and watching movies, puppy snuggles, nap times, yummy hearty meals, sunshine, warm breezes, fluffy kitty tails, and flip flop weather {make me terribly happy.}

{3. Something that inspires me is} beauty, I love finding beauty in things. I am a (very) amateur photographer but I love to take pictures of normal things, that people look at every day, and seeing them as beautiful.

{4. If I had the day off today} funny thing, I do have today off. But it's cold and blustery, flurrying on and off, so as opposed to the bike ride i wanted to have, i am watching BH 90210 and playing on the laptop. I have some reading planned and a few movies to watch later.

{5. If I had to put a label on my home decor style} mis-mash, cozy, not fancy at all. I have a dark wood set in my LR (entertainment center, coffee table and end tables) and a matching set in the BR, I also like colorful things, LR had red accents, my kitchen is a limey green theme (it's a work in progress), and the bathroom is red.

{6. Concerning politics I would say I'm a} i don't fall into one area. i'm too complicated.

{7. I'd like to go to} Japan (again) {so I could} help with tsunami relief. i would also like to just be back there, things were so different there, things seemed so much easier.

6. If I could have 3 wishes I would wish a bottomless bank account, a perfect house in a warm climate, and healthy family and friends .

7. My biggest pet peeve is ...shitty drivers! .

Vacancy

I love this building. I pass it every day when I drive into town. I find it unbelievably fascinating. I want to buy it, and renovate it, and make it my home. I love the big windows and tattered roof. I like to think it's haunted. Maybe something terrible happened inside, like a serial killer lived there, or a mass suicide. Or maybe it's haunted by early pioneers that traveled through Helena on their way West looking for a new life, haunted by the spirits of the travelers who died from disease or were killed by Native Americans or starvation.

It looks like such a scary building.

List of a different kind!

I again apologize for not posting often, I've been wrapping up school, still not feeling well, and trying to have a life outside of the internet.

Today I'd like to start out with a different list, this one isn't part of the 30 day list challenge, but it's my personal to do list for the day. Today is my day off and I have TONS to do. Including write a stupid paper.

List 10. Wish List.

1. be better at $$ management. (I should start by doing my taxes I guess... so add that to todays to do list)

2. finish school (this isn't happening any time soon, because I hate online classes)

3. loose a few pounds (working on that!)

4. be more green (we were so much better in Okinawa, with recycling and composting and such, not so much here though. That makes me sad)

5. Have more FUN! (life has been a little boring lately and I need to pick it up since it's warming up and have fun!)

6. open my online store. (I've talked about it. I am a very crafty and creative person, i am also lazy and hat has been the winning personal quality of mine lately, but I want to get my shit in gear and do something!)

{one} what is one food that, as an adult you love, but as a child you said you’d never touch? Anything green, I hated veggies, now I am a big fan. I also like pork a little more than I did as a kid.
{two} did you go to college? if yes, what was your major? I am sort of right now, online, but I am about to quit, or take a break, or something because it's pissing me off. I am a double major in History and Environmental Management.
{three} what’s the most wild animal you’ve seen in real life (not counting the zoo)? bears, or buffalo. I have also seen two TWO bald eagles since we got to Montana, that's more than I've seen in the wild EVER!
{four} have you ever been to a fortune teller? Nope, not sure if I believe it.
{five} can you juggle? lol, no. I have tried.
{six} hardwood floors or carpet? I prefer carpet because I don't like the way my feet get dirty on hardwood or linoleum. I am a bear foot girl so a soft surface for my feet matters.
{seven} is it called “soda” or “pop”? I would like a coke. what kind of coke? a doctor pepper please. i call it all coke
{eight} what was your first car? my dads old station wagon.
{nine} what is the most decadent dessert you’ve ever eaten? I had a friend who loved to dine at expensive restaurants, so I've had lots of decadent deserts. My fav would likely be tiramisu.
{ten} how often do you rearrange your furniture? often, like once a month I am moving something around. I can't explain it.
