well besides that thing that only baseball fans know about, there is a thing going around the blog world, in health-blog rings called a Green Monster. Upon further investigation I learned that it's a smoothie that looks like baby shit. It's not supposed to taste like shit, but it looks like shit, and i have a hard time with the idea of eating something that looks like shit. But in the never ending quest for health and weight loss, i decided i would try to make one. i am sick of bagel thins for breakfast and wanted to mix it up a little.
so here goes: MY BABY SHIT SMOOTHIE
a hand full of spinach
4-5 raspberries
3 strawberries
1 heaping spoon of flax seed
about 1 cup of coconut water
a few ice cubes
blended in my Magic Bullet until smooth
and....
yep that looks like shit to me.
it really wasn't bad, it tasted like watered down strawberries, i thought about adding some sugar free sweetener but I wanted to keep it as natural as possible. I think i'll maybe have another for lunch.
i used fresh berries but almost all the recipes i saw called for frozen, well i didn't have frozen. But I did just take all the fruit i had and packaged it for freezing.

Buzz about me!
Labels:
link-up
The Rules:
1. Write a post with your answers provided to each week's questions
2. Place the button in your post so others can find this link back
3. Have fun and come back every week
The Questions:
1. When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up?
a princess, you can see how that turned out. i think i just wanted to be happy, which i am.
2. Most people go through several phases in life. What is the one phase you went through that you now look back on and wonder what the hell were you thinking?
the much older guys phase. seriously the only reason a 21yr old dates a 17yr old is because he wants to get in her pants, not be her prom date.
3. Have you ever been in a long distance relationship?
when Paul and i met it began as a casual long distance thing. but quickly evolved into more, and as soon as he got his orders to move even further from me i told him i was going with him. 7 years later and we are still going strong, this year we celebrate our 5 year wedding anniversary.
4. What are five inanimate objects can you not live without?
iPhone, toothbrush (and toothpaste), flip flops, tweezers, a watch.
5. Are you superstitious?
sort of, i guess you can call it that, I am OCD and i feel that if things aren't done a certain way that the bad vibes in the universe will attack me. like when i leave the house or go to bed, i have to have all the light switches facing the same direction.
6. What is one of your talents?
i can put my legs behind my head.
7. What is your favorite animal?
elephant :)
8. Heels or flats?
i love both but i wear flats more often because i work on my feet and i would die in heels for an 8 hour shift.
9. What's you favorite season?
all of them but snow.
10. Out of all the places you have lived, what has been your favorite?
Okinawa, Japan. hands down, for sure. I have never in my life lived somewhere more awesome. I hope we can live there again someday.

Hells Yeah! I'd like to thank Destiny over at Rockin Mama. She's an awesome bitch, who has always got great things going on at her blog. Check her out!
The rules of the award state that the recipient must list seven things about themselves and then pass the award to 10 other deserving bloggers!
- Erin @ Life Goes On
- Alyssa @ Southern Charm
- Andrea (my sister) @ tales from a hopeless romantic
- April @ Love Bug Life
- Shea @ Lovin' Every Minute of It
- Monique @ just another day in paradise
okay i can't find more than 6 blogs that i follow that follow me back. I know hard to believe huh? well i am sure i am forgetting someone and for that I am sorry. and i don't want to re-tag ones that Destiny already tagged.
any way the facts of life:
- i care way too much what people think of me. i am way to worried that people won't like me or will be mad at me. i hate this about myself, but i cannot seem to change it.
- i am pretty lazy. i have a hard time getting off my ass to do anything. but i am mostly okay with that.
- i love naps.
- i also love to cook.
- i sort of want to nap right now, but i need to start dinner.
- i am a hypochondriac and also afraid to go to the doctor because i think they think i am a hypochondriac. whenever i think something has gotten bad enough to go to the doctor it always seems to stop ailing me just before my appt, then i feel like an ass, just wasting the doctors time. often i just wait until the pain is ER worthy, but even then (like the kidney stone they think i passed a few months ago) i finally go to the ER and then the pain stops.
- every single time i type the word until, i spell it unitl the first time i type it, i think my right hand types faster than my left so the i just sneaks in before the t.

My Birthday
Labels:

At the end of July I celebrated my 29th birthday. It was a great day, full of sleeping in and watching TV, I got myself hooked on watching Nip Tuck. That night Paul got home and took me to a nice dinner. we went to the nice steakhouse in town called Silver Star. It was pretty good. very expensive, but pretty good. For an appitizer we had crab cakes and calamari (yum!) and for dinner I had a bison steak and Paul had seared tuna.

Paul got me an awesome Hello Kitty wallet, a neato HK lanyard thing for me to wear my work name tag on, and a HK phone cover. Yeah, someone has a little bit of a Hello Kitty problem.

My sister got me the cutest HK booties and a piggy pen and some cute cupcake wrappers and a bunch of nips (she works at a liquor store.)

and then later that week I got to hang out with the Marines at the county fair. My Paul is the one in the uniform in the backround.

and everyone cheers!
Thank you for being patient with me. I have so much to share, I have done so many things without internet. I cannot wait to share my kitchen adventures, pictures, and work stories with you.
Oh and I checked my Google Reader today for the first time in 2 weeks. 954 unread blog posts. I guess I need to follow more blogs, I was sure that number would be well over 1,000, I have it down to 920 now. It's going to take me all three days I have off to catch up on all my unread blogs.
Last thing, just before I lost all internet I joined pinterest (if you want an invite just let me know. But yOu should go find me on there if you are on it. I am in love.
